By plane
Domestic flights
There are daily flights from [wiki=e14045c6b4fe1e65d04aade91b1f8c1b]Athens[/wiki] airport by [url=http://www.olympicair.com/Home.aspx?a_id=549]Olympic Air[/url] and [url=http://en.aegeanair.com/]Aegean Airlines[/url]. In addition, you can fly to Chios from several other Greek islands such as Mytiline , Samos, Rhodes, Heraclion and Limnos with [url=http://www.skyexpress.gr/en-us/home.aspx]Sky Express[/url]. In the summer time there are also flights from [wiki=7eb1724b95d913f4e5034b121813d6d5]Thessalonika[/wiki] and [wiki=3dd9ab27e061fb4fab78e42511023a08]Rhodes[/wiki] 2-3 times a week. [url=http://www.astra-airlines.gr/]Astra Airlines[/url] has scheduled flights from [wiki=6ca5bea86fe229aa3c559cd8cb5fe493]Thessaloniki[/wiki].
From May till October charter airlines fly directly to Chios from some European airports.

* Transavia from Amsterdam Holland twice a week;
* Austrian From Vienna Austria once a week. -
By boat
You can take the boat from Pireaus once a day (twice a day in the summer) from NEL Lines or Hellenic Seaways or Kabala (operational only in the summer). There is also regular trips from [wiki=368ba127551225d540a70657e5dba0d3]Samos[/wiki] and [wiki=d0bdf652ecc9696cd57c2cd7fe3873c2]Lesvos[/wiki] all year round.

The all year round service costing €23 one-way pp (or €40 return) departs at 11AM from Çeşme and takes roughly an hour. Those doing the trip to the island as a day trip can take the return ferry to Turkey departing 17:00 (except Sundays, when it departs at 16:00) from Chios.

filter_dramaGet aroundYou can bring a car using the boats, or you can rent one there. Chios is a big island and if you want to get around (out of the place where you are staying you have to have wheels) you better rent a car or motorbike. Renting a bicycle is also an option if you are not travelling big distances.
