Parks
Yorkton has ten well maintained and aesthetically pleasing parks in or near the city, including three provincial parks.
All parks are equipped with park benches, and picnic areas with tables. Highlights include the Silver Heights waterpark and playground located in the southwest of Yorkton on Sunset drive,and York Lake Regional park with a 18-hole golf course, four-diamond slowpitch complex including two lighted fields, and the Yorkton Canoe and Kayak Club's facilities.

Heritage Heights Park
Includes park benches, picnic tables, and garbage cans; tennis courts; located in the northeast end of Yorkton on McBurney Drive.
* Knights of Columbus Park
Includes park benches, picnic tables, and garbage cans; tennis courts; located on Circlebrooke Drive, southwest side of Yorkton.
* Silver Heights Water Park and Playground
Includes park benches, picnic tables, and garbage cans; also includes water park and tennis court; located on the southwest end of Yorkton, on Sunset Drive North.
* Skateboard Park
Located on the Gallagher Centre grounds, just to the east of the main entrance on the north side of Broadway. Skateboard park users are welcome to use the washroom and food service facilities at the Gallagher Centre. -
Museums
Western Develepment Museum
Located on Highway 16 west, the YWDM tells the story of early immigrants and their struggles in early Saskachewan, it houses the gigantic Twin City gas tractor, one of only two in North America!
* Yorkton Sports Hall of Fame and Museum
This museum is found on the corner of Third Avenue and Smith Street. It holds preserved sport memorabilia, historic archives, and collectibles.
* Godfrey Dean Art Gallery
Godfrey Dean Cultural Centre

The Godfrey Dean Art Gallery is the only professionally-operated public art gallery within a 100 km radius of Yorkton. It curates, exhibits and promotes the work of local, provincial and national contemporary artists who address issues affecting the Yorkton region. The Dean opens exhibits in its two galleries about every six weeks. It also opens its doors to the cultural and artistic programming of local organizations and schools.

Sports
Yorkton is home to the Yorkton Terriers, Yorkton's own SJHL hockey team. It is also home to the Yorkton Cardinals a baseball team playing in the Western Major Baseball League.
Yorkton has many other sports teams, ranging from children's to adults.
*Jubillee Baseball Park
Located on Foster Street, the city's main baseball park offers a number of amenities including a concession, sound booth and washroom facilities. Yorkton Minor Baseball has also constructed a batting cage. Jubilee Ball Park is home to 4 diamonds including 2 senior (one with grass infield), 1 bantam and 1 pee wee diamond.
*Cherrydale Golf and Campground
Located 4 miles east of Yorkton, 2 miles south on Cherrydale Road, half mile east. Par 23/27 golf course, campground, showers, fire pit, ball diamond, horse shoes, driving range, nature trails, beach volleyball, catering for family and corporate events.
*Deer Park Golf Course
Newly-renovated 18 hole public golf course, par 72, 6,200 yards, with driving range and practice areas. Cart and equipment rentals, pro shop, food and beverage service. Located on the west boundary of the city along Broadway.
*York Lake Golf & Country Club
Located two miles south of Yorkton, just off Highway 10 South. 18-hole green grass golf course with driving range, and licenced clubhouse, club and cart rentals available.

*Yorkton Film Festival The festival celebrates its 65th Year in 2012, running from May 24th - May 27th. The Yorkton Film Festival started in 1947, after the forming of the Yorkton Film Council. The first festival was an international festival that was launched in 1950, under the encouragement of local NFB officer James Lysyshyn. Thanks to volunteers throughout the years, the festival is North America's longest running film festival. Today, film makers from across Canada make their way to Yorkton for workshops and showings. For the public, this is an opportunity to view the very best of Canadian short films and videos (under 60 minutes) free of charge. This year's event will continue the festival's LobsterBlast, a lobster meal followed by skeet shooting; as well as activities honouring the festival's 65th year and the people who have helped us keep North America's longest film festival going strong. The awards dinner is a gala affair and a fitting conclusion to the longest running film festival in North America.

*Painted Hand Casino Pow Wow Held annually in May, with hundreds of dancers expected from Western Canada and north-west United States, it is a dazzling experience for all.
*Yorkton Summer Fair The Yorkton Exhibition Association offers year-round activities and events for all to enjoy, including the annual summer fair held annually in early July. Always an anticipated event in Yorkton, the summer fair is guaranteed to thrill people of all ages. Chuckwagon and chariot races, parimutuel horse races, midway, grandstand entertainment, 4-H livestock shows, and a variety of displays and food concessions are just some of what lies ahead. Come out and join the fun!
*Threshermen's Show and Seniors' Festival

Horse-drawn wagons, stooking and threshing crews, and steam tractors spring to life each summer at the annual Threshermen's Show and Seniors' Festival. It takes the dedicated, year-round efforts of the Threshermen's Club to keep these antique pieces of farm equipment in sound working order.
This is history at its best... history alive and working. Visitors can try their hand at stooking, visit the sawmill, watch the Story of Harvest as methods from single horse plows to giant steam engines are demonstrated.
Inside the museum special events are scheduled, and the permanent displays are open for viewing.
Among the special events is a demonstration by The York Colony Quilter's Guild, a group of ladies who keep alive this very practical pioneer art form.
*River Runs Through Rondyvoo Held annualy in July, you'll have the unique opportunity to take a glimpse into the past if you venture out to the River Runs Through Rondyvoo Camp, held annually just west of Yorkton.Go prepared to witness historical scenes and dress from the 1800s. There will be nothing more modern that 1850 at the primitive, reenactment camp.
Visitors have the opportunity to view tomahawk throwing, black powder rifle shooting and they can even do some trading and bartering while at the camp.
Located on Highway 16 West, in between Yorkton and Orcadia, this event is one you won't want to miss.
*Yorkton Historical Walking Tour Step back to the past with this self-guided walking tour. A leisurely stroll, taking approximately one hour, will take you past 30 private and public buildings that capture the essence of Yorkton's early years.
This is a wonderful opportunity to view some of the many beautiful yards and gardens in the city.
Take the time to enter public buildings to fully appreciate the fine architectural details.

*Ravine Ecological Preserve The starting point for this self-guided nature trail of 2.5 kilometer is at the Gallagher Centre, on Broadway Street West, or the parking area to the west of the preserve.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll on the path or observe the area from the boardwalk crossing the marsh. Station markers and an interpretive brochure guides walkers across the marsh and through the flora and fauna. Shorter walks may be taken.
The preserve is open all year round. Guided tours are available upon request. For information about tours, contact Carla at 786-1750.

Sunflower is the largest unjuried show and sale in Saskatchewan. Artists and crafts people vie for space at this annual event, which attracts thousands of visitors. The quality and variety of arts and crafts offered here is excellent, and with 190 artists and crafters showing their work, it has become a favourite place to do early Christmas shopping.
