      Bududa is becoming a very popular tourist destination. It is 35 kilometers south east of Mbale city and is well connected with easy transport system. Most of the vehicles ply the Bududa route are parked in the main Mbale taxi park. Taxi operators, most of whom speak fluent English or Luganda or Kiswahili. They are generally very helpful so feel free to ask them for help. Mbale to Bududa taxi fare is USH 5,000 which is approximately USD 1.5.

      From Mbale city, Follow the Mbale - Tororo main Highway road. At about 6 kilometer from Mbale town, you take a turn off into the country dirt road to Bududa. The main landmarks on your way are Nabumali Trading Center, Manafa town and Bududa town.

      Take a matatu/taxi(5000 shillings) to Budairi (50 minuttes away)to Rose's Last Chance. It is placed on Mt.Elgon and there is a lot of things to do that does noe involve hikng Mt.Elgon for 100 dollars a day, since that is expencive for us on a low budget. From community hikes, coffee tours, agriculture hikes, volunteering and more. It's a great place for relaxing and escaping the city.

      Popular bull fighting is held at Namasho, which is next to Bulucheke Senior Secondary Playground in Bududa.

      So far the best and cheapest place to buy materials. The African patterns, and there's tailors on every corner that can make whatever you want for a fair (muzungu) price.

      Endiro - a wester coffee shop/restaurant with free wifi. Located in Republican street on the other siden of Barcleys
      Cosmo - free wifi. They have western food, milkshakes, cooffee, tea and more. Localted at the right side of Repulican street if you come from the clock tower. It is on the second floor.

      Zaale Homestay is a popular place to stay in Bududa. You can easily reach the homestay from Bududa. Drop at Bunapooro corner, from where you can take Boda Boda to reach the homestay. The homestay offers clean accommodation options including single rooms with breakfast, rooms with full board, dormitory with half board and traditional but clean washrooms. They also serve very tasty food including traditional fares such as Matooke, rice, chapati, Peanut sauce, chicken, pork, vegetables and toasts.
