There are many nice beaches in the locality and fishing trips can be organised from nearby Portnablagh. The New Lake is a haven for seabirds and is now a Special Protection Area. Also nearby is Sessiagh Lough,a small lough with a crannóg (ancient man-made island) in the middle.
